Strippin Bud
A bit low on cash so I've been stripping a roof in Dennis for my buddy's construction company. Really hard work and the owner of the house watches you work all day, I guess he wants his money worth. He says he wants to learn but there ain't much to it, you tear off the shingles until there ain't no more. I've never thought about Dennis much so I started to read about it and I found this fable.

East Harbor
Been taking some pictures around a place called East Harbor. In 1868 a dike was built for train tracks to be laid and the harbor was cut off from Cape Cod Bay. Over time the salt water became fresh and it's now known as Pilgrim Lake. Some people say that Provincetown would be an island today if the dike wasn't made. The photo is of the road around the lake.

Bound East for Cardiff
I just read Bound East for Cardiff today. It's Eugene O'Neill's first play and it premiered at the Provincetown Players theater. The theater was an old fish house at the end of a wharf. What a setting it must have been for this moving play. The text is from a book called Time and the Town A Provincetown Chronicle by Mary Heaton Vorse.

George Bryant's Paper Blog
George Bryant is a Provincetown local. He has lived in town for many years and he always has something interesting to talk about. He knows a lot about a lot. He has nailed boards to the outside of his fence around his property and frequently staples photos, articles, stories, maps and so on to them.

Four Legged Pitcher
The photo of the pitcher is from this weeks paper. The article talks about the team only having ten players and how the coach is praying for no injuries. When I was a kid I was on a ice hockey team with about the same number of players. My friends convinced me to be the goal tender even though I couldn't skate . I remember getting injured in a game but having to keep playing because there was no one else to take my place.

My First Studio
Last time I was here I ask the town manager if I could use the second floor landing of the town hall as a studio to take portraits of locals. It has massive windows with loads of daylight streaming in. It also was a neutral place that related to every one I brought in. Since I've been away the building has been closed for at least 2 years to under go restoration. I need to find a replacement but it's going to be hard to match my first studio in town. The photo is of Karen, she's one of my favorites.
